Go unplugged with us in Ubud, Bali for a different kind of vacation! This specially curated parent-and-child nature-based programme is designed to help participants immerse in Balinese cultures, learn about environmental issues and sustainable tourism, and take steps to protect the world our kids will be inheriting. We recommend doing this programme as a family.
Parent and child are considered 2 participants, so 2 bookings needed. Children under 6 years old can tag along with parents without signing up for the programme.
Stay in the gorgeous Mana Ubud eco-resort (accommodation not included in programme fee), spend time in nature and discover new things as a family.

Day 1
We’ll kick off with breakfast at Mana, an introduction of the program, followed by a tour of Mana’s space! Lunch will be at Mana, before we are transported over to Penarungan/Kemenuh to immerse ourselves in Balinese culture with Five Pillar Experiences. Traditional Balinese dinner will be served there too!
Day 2
After breakfast at Mana, we’ll connect with self and others through a meditation walk and games. We’ll then travel over to Sandan Natural for a garden tour, and to harvest organic fresh foods. Lunch will be at Sandan Natural, followed by a flora & fauna scavenger hunt, and a bamboo forest walk. We’ll make our way back to Mana after.
Day 3
On the last day of the programme, kids will participate in interesting activities such as tote bag painting and mandala making. We’ll then tour the campus of Green School Bali, where we’ll learn about sustainability through a community-integrated, entrepreneurial approach – all in a natural learning environment without the stifling four walls of a traditional classroom. These are the skills & mindset that will last a lifetime and how we learn in real life. Let's get kids to learn how to learn. Because the kids who learn to learn become curious, inventive, resourceful human beings who solve real world problems to make a meaningful impact.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Saturday Kids running Unplugged?
As a tech school for kids, we recognise the importance of disconnecting with devices and connecting with nature so that our young learners can become better systems thinkers, drawing insights from how ecosystems work in nature and bring those learnings back to tech ecosystems for their inventions.
Is airfare, accommodation and travel insurance included in the cost of this programme?
We’re focusing our efforts on organising an amazing outdoor learning experience for you and your child, so our programme costs are based on just the activities planned in the itinerary. Flights, accommodation and travel insurance are to be arranged separately at your own convenience.
Do you have recommendations for where we should book our accommodation?
Plenty! We highly recommend you booking your stay at Mana Earthly Paradise, an award-winning eco hotel run by our programme partners. Besides a 10% discount for Saturday Kids families, you’ll be situated right in the thick of the programme’s activities, so that you don’t have to worry about getting to places on time. Simply indicate your interest during the checkout process and we’ll refer you to the reservations team – this is the only way to book your accommodation at Mana during this period. There are limited villas available, and bookings will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Other great options that are within a 5-10 minute walk are Arya Arkananta and Ubud Raya Shala, and you can book these places directly with the accommodation providers, so fret not if you don’t manage to secure a booking at Mana!
Are meals included in the cost of the programme?
Food is a quintessential part of any cultural experience, so we’ve arranged for a number of meals to be included as part of the programme! The meals that are indicated in the programme itinerary are included in the cost, while there is also some room for you to explore Balinese cuisine in your own free time.
What happens if my child/I have tested ART positive for COVID-19?
There’s nothing that thwarts a well-deserved vacation like the good ol’ rona. If you or your child test positive for COVID-19 before your flight, reach out to us as soon as possible and we’ll see what we can do to assist. If you’re feeling unwell and test positive during the trip itself, we’ll seek your understanding to isolate as soon as possible and not participate in further activities till a negative test is returned. We’ll do our best to provide as much assistance as possible during this period.
Are there other options if I can’t make it for these dates?
We know that busy schedules means that sometimes it’s hard for the stars to align. If you are really keen on the programme but really can’t find a way to make it on those dates, let us know and we’ll inform you if alternative slots open up!
I have kids below 6 years old, can they still join in for the programme?
For children under 6 years old, we would recommend that they tag along with parents instead of signing up for the kids programme as we will not have sufficient instructors to specifically guide younger children. Separate arrangements can be made for meals – just let us know that you’ll have a child under 6 that is tagging along.
